Kudos to everyone in attendance at Thursday nights GEAR-UP event at Galilee Baptist. As impressive as the program and the family turnout was the Milwood staff turnout for the evening.

Last week we had an attendance audit. Char had the records that teachers provided to go into the audit with. The auditor found major issues with our attendance records and is asking for a remediation plan to be implemented immediately. We'll move this topic to the top of our list for our February profesional development as she will be back in April to see that the problems have all been resolved. The penalty for lack of compliance is loss of funds.

Volleyball tryouts begin this week on Tuesday after school.

We begin two new instructional programs this week. Read 180 will be an instructional reading program that will be delivered by the special education teachers. There are two reading labs for this program. One is PJ's class and the other is in April's class. 8th grade recovery begins this week in Gary's room. 2nd and 4th periods we will have a math class and 5 and 7th periods we'll have an English class.

We are scheduled for an input session with the superintendent search consultants. They will be at Milwood to meet with staff on February 19, at 2:45.
