We have been asked to submit, weekly, the name of a student who has made a turn around in their academic or social performance or who has demonstrated exemplary academic effort and achievement. I am going to ask that you add this to your weekly team meetings. We would have 5 students each week that are identified and we would be able to forward this information to Dr. Rice per his request.

The MEAP has been designated specific days for testing in fall 2008. This is due to the security breach that occurred in Jackson this year. Our testing schedule has already been set for us. You can find it at http://campbell2223.googlepages.com/milwoodmagnetmeap

I will have copies of our magnet program overview and budget at the school improvement meeting this Monday for staff review. We have to have a revision of our program overview turned in by Friday. Any thoughts or comments are welcome as part of the revision process.

Human Resources will be in the building on Tuesday and Wednesday doing fingerprinting. This is a requirement that comes out of state law. Ruth passed out a registration form earlier that should have been returned to her. HR will use their own process to see individuals for this task.

I want everyone to understand that there are different procedures for approval of field trips and professional development. There has to be a specific relationship to curriculum and instruction for approval.

I'd like to see 8th grade advisory representatives on Thursday at 7:35 in the library.

The technology committee has been asked to develop a specific system/procedure for the use of laptops in the school. This is a requirement of central office before we are able add any more computers into our building. If you have any suggestions or feedback about computer access, please forward it to Atiba McKissack.
