Last Day of the Marking Period
I placed the Behavior Bingo sheets in everyone's mailbox along with a bag of reinforcement candy which you can give out as students get a Bingo. We will do this activity first thing on Monday morning. We should be on the air by 7:40.
Reminder this Thursday night is our GEAR-UP family involvement night. It would be great to have staff in attendance with our students and their families. Dinner will be served at 6:00 followed by performances and career awareness sessions.
Mark and Jan will meet with a technology representative from each team
on Thursday, afternoon at 2:30. The purpose of this meeting is to distribute the team laptop carts and to review the procedures and responsibilities for use of the laptops. Remember 10 laptops are being assigned to each team. There will be 3 carts of ten each available in the library for check out. Please see Mark if a representative from your team can not be present.
Beginning Tuesday, January 23 we will start two new instructional programs. 8th grade recovery and READ 180 will both begin. The 8th grade recovery program will be taught out of room 414, far back home ec. room. It will be staffed with two half-time teachers, one English and one math. We'll introduce this staff at our next staff meeting. READ 180 will be an instructional reading program taught by our special education staff.
I had 5 teachers indicate they would like to get feedback from James Cunningham over classroom management. If you'd like to be added to the list just return e-mail me with your name. James will be here on Mondays, he can realistic see 3-4 classroom in a day.
Milwood's Amazing Reading Race begins on Tuesday. All English teachers should have the information on this program and students should have an overview of what this entails.
