Conferences will take place this week. Please consider the issues that have been raised in the past as your team plans for conference structure. An additional resources will be added to your team as a data table will be available to parents to collect information about EdPerformance, MEAP and SWIS. Karen, Diane, Maggie, Ellen and Vivian will be supporting this function.
There is a 6th grade basketball game scheduled for Wednesday night at 5:00, while this conflicts with conferences, it is also an opportunity to get some parents to conferences after the game.
On Thursday, there will be a staff luncheon from 10:45 - 12:00 in room 415.
Please note the following phone extensions:
262 Shaler
261 Adams
270 Jackson
269 Hoyle
268 Weber
246 MaCarty
251 Griffin
Call 251 to report a student referral or to request assistance. If possible, direct specific questions and needs to the person you'd like to talk with. We don't want to bog down our response from the student center for priority issues because the phone line is busy.
On Tuesday, I will address all students and staff about changes to our after-school process. We met this past Friday to talk about improvements for supervision and clarifications of expectations, if students stay after school.
We are in the process of planning for next year. If you'd like to give input on the use of planners in the school pass it on to Sarah, Dawn or myself. You are also invited to meet with us on Monday after-school. We will be making necessary changes and discussing improvements for next year's process.
I will try to meet with individual staff members as the staffing process moves forward and decisions have to be made about our program for next year. As of right now we are slated for 550 students on 5 teams, one 6th, two 7th and two 8th. We must make a reduction in staff by two because of a decreased enrollment forecast. Approximately 50, 6th graders are going to be held at their elementary schools for 6th grade to provide us with clean teams.
