Ellen and I will be meeting with 8th graders this week on Monday and Wednesday reviewing summer school requirements for 9th grade promotion. We may have to get some students out of their classes for this purpose.
I turned in building KALPA to Eliza in the professional development office last week. She was going to enter it on the system so that teachers could update their PD logs. This has to be done in a timely manner. I should have gotten this information to her earlier, my apologies.
Jan pulled the cumulative history cards for each advisory teacher's students and placed them in your box. There should have been a cover sheet with directions about your task. You must make a citizenship mark and write a brief anecdotal about the student. This is to be completed by June 8.
The science fair is Thursday night in the cafeteria, science teachers will be setting up displays afterschool and we may need to keep all afterschool activities out of the cafeteria.
The Milwood Band will be marching in the Memorial Day Parade in downtown Kalamazoo this coming Monday, Memorial Day. I'm sure they will be impressive as the only middle school in the parade.
The posting is up on our Assistant Principal. I spoke with Mary Weber Friday, she said it will probably be a couple of weeks before any further action is taken. She said she will be running the staffing process and she has three or four other administrative staffings ahead of ours.
K-College has extended an invitation to our students who would be interested in attending a science workshop this Friday, a notice to parents with permission should be handed out on Monday.
