KCIS is running a dental clinic in our building on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. There were a number of parents who wanted to take advantage of this service. This may require some students to come out of a class for a treatment.

On Thursday we will follow the assembly schedule instead of the advisory schedule. We are doing this because we must administer a GEAR-UP survey to all the students in the school and it could take up to 40 minutes. So students will report to the advisory class. All teachers will have surveys to distribute to students for this special version of advisory. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

We have professional development Monday afternoon. While we have a range of topics to discuss our focus will be on taking the Magnet evaluation feedback and using it for school improvement purposes. I am attaching a copy of the magnet evaluation to this week's announcements for any staff members who were not present last Monday for the feedback.

Molly will be starting the after school program on Monday December 8. A reminder to all staff that you are responsible for escorting students out of the building if they staff after school with you for whatever reason. Their is no designated after school supervisor. The city bus makes a pick up about 3:20 right in front of the building. The next bus doesn't come until 3:50 and then 4:50. If they miss a bus students must be supervised.

Dr. Rice will be the speaker during for our merit awards program on Friday morning. We had 19 students nominated and there will be a breakfast and parents were invited to attend the program. It will be held in the cafeteria.

New schedules should be passed out in 1st period Monday. Please don't send students to the student center because they don't like their schedule. There is a process everyone should go through to see their counselor. If there is a glaring error then call to the counselors for direction.
