Reminder this Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. is our 1st combined performing arts program at Loy Norrix. If you are able please come out and support your students and colleagues.

We will have our first site visit from the magnet program evaluator. This will be a regular event for the next three years as they assess the effectiveness of magnet plan implementation. Don't get worried about the 1st one as they will largely assess us from the "where we are perspective."
I 'll share a little more detail at staff meeting on Monday.

8th graders will be taking the EXPLORE test this Wednesday in the morning, 2nd hour - 5th hour. They will stay in their 2nd hour class for the duration of the testing. This test is a junior version of the ACT and will give students and parents somewhat of an idea of where they are relative to college readiness as measured by the ACT.

Don't forget to give Mary the names of any student you feel could use a winter coat, she is in charge of distribution of 30 we received.

While it may not be as big of an issue with our current weather, we are under a very specific procedural mandate from central office for building security. ALL DOORS are to remain LOCKED during the school day, with the exception of the front entrance which we monitor. This means no sticks or pebbles in the doors. If your students need to go outside they should use the front doors or be accompanied by an adult elsewhere. We are even asking delivery people to check in at the front desk first.
