We will have a change in the office staff. Ruth has taken a position at Oakwood Elementary and begins this Monday. A posting for a new secretary has been put out by human resources. It was her preference to leave without any recognition from staff. Char will serve as an interim secretary until a new secretary starts. The most immediate issue is probably substitutes. You'll have to direct all request and sick time issues to me at this point.

Picture day is on Thursday. We will call students down to stage area in the cafeteria, by grade level in alphabetical clusters. This will be done over the PA.

Wednesday is 8th grade career day. We will have a number of guests in the building to speak in 8th grade classrooms from 8 am - 10 am. 8th grade will resume back to a normal schedule at the start of 4th period.

The parade and magnet fair were both successful events and the new school website is now up and operational, www.milwoodmagnet.com.

One of topics of conversation in our leadership meeting last week was the need for a common lesson plan format, especially in light of the fact that we will need to provide the evaluators with copies of all of our lesson plans. I was provided three different models, two of them followed Madeline Hunter's model. I am attaching one of these formats that I would ask everyone to use to submit their lesson plan for November 21 to me by November 14. I still want to explore the lesson format as we have some teachers using an online blog, before we totally decide on one for the entire school. But please use the attached one for your lesson on the 21st, as I have to give a hard copy to Barb Witzak on Friday.

Any teacher who can help with supervision at Friday's dance please let either Maggie or myself know, we need to size up our adult ranks for the evening, some parents will be helping also.

The portfolio boxes are on the counter in the main office. If you haven't returned your portfolios for unheld conferences please do so and place alphabetically in the appropriate box.
