We are scheduled for professional development on Wednesday. We will overview the school improvement plan and will get closure to the vocabulary work we began this year as topics for the meeting.

I will be meeting with 8th graders who have not met the promotion standard for high school to discuss their options for summer school and over the next week. We have 54 students in 8th grade who have not met the standard for promotion.

A thanks to Mary's leadership and all of the staff who helped out with video game night this past Friday. It went well and was popular with both the parents and the students who attended.

I posted a a reading list for summer on my office door. If you'd like to participate with any of the books listed put your name on the ones you're interested in and I will get a copy to you before school gets out.

We continue to wait on planning as the district is trying to clean up the enrollment issues at the middle school. Maple Street is over enrolled at this point and they have to move students to a Milwood or Linden. Staffing continues as we go into the second round of moves. All responses to the second posting must be to HR by Friday.

We discussed with the Leadership team that our summer back to school staff development will likely be the week of August 17. This is a little earlier than we wanted but we have to work around district plans. This will be a paid voluntary PD oppotunity.

A reminder that our last merit awards program will be Friday, June 5. Staff nominations are to be turned into Deb Blondin by Friday, May 22.

A large number of 6th graders will be out of the building on Thursday, because of the 6th grade city track meet.
