No School - Building PD, all day


This coming Friday is a building professional development day. We'll meet initially in Room 415. The focus for our day will be school improvement. We will cover some procedural issues that need clarification and teams will have time for approximately a 1 hour meeting. Please bring your attendance binders at 8:00, we'll start with an attendance overview of expectations.

Open house is Thursday night. It may be helpful to have a brief overview of your classroom expectations and curriculum overview available for parents. Remember this is not a forum for a lengthy parent conference, especially if other parents are waiting to meet you. We'll hold a brief ribbon cutting ceremony in the media center to celebrate the opening of this beautiful space at 7:00.

Our plan is for all social studies teacher to pass out ID's on Monday. Tuesday morning it will become the responsibility of the advisory teacher to check each student's compliance with the ID standard. Temporary IDs will be issued to all advisory teachers, please keep them in a place where they will remain through the year. A student not in compliance will wear a temporary ID until they purchase a replacement ID. More information will follow on the morning show.

Diane will be following up all this week with planner lessons during advisory time.

We have two students starting Avante Garde this week, Nicholas Gaunt-Busse and James Gbogi. They will need to leave at approximately 9:00 on Tuesdays and will be gone all day. Becasue they get academic assignments in this program, they are released from any assignments they might miss at their home schools on these days. If they are in your class please take note of this situation.
